The Clinic
The Tiny Tim's Children's Centre is widely used by people from across the Coventry area and beyond. It operates as a children's charity and is supported by many individuals, groups and trusts.
The centre has grown in popularity with the increased provision of the free treatment and free use of the equipment by special needs schools. Feedback is continually sought from parents and carers who use the centre for both treatment and therapeutic play. There is a wealth of support by most parents who recognise significant improvement in their children.
The Tiny Tim's Children's Centre is considered to have achieved higher then average growth over the years, when compared with similar organisations.
How it all began
The Tiny Tim's Children's Centre is all about making young dreams come true - whatever a child's ability or disability.
Based in Coventry, the centre is the brain-child of the late Stan Duncombe, a retired osteopath. Already operating a well-established clinic for people of all ages Stan dreamed of opening a centre dedicated to treating children with what he calls 'touch therapy'.
The Founder
(Photo of the late Stan Duncombe) Stan's dream came true in 1997 when the London and Counties Society of Physiologists (LCSP) expressed a desire to see more being done with funds raised by its charitable arm, Education, Research and Development (ERD).
A city site was soon acquired and equipped by the LCSP, who continue to oversee the work of therapists drawn from a variety of backgrounds.
