Welcome to Tiny Tim's Children's Centre

The Tiny Tim’s Children’s Centre is a Coventry based Registered Charity, founded in 1997 to help children with disabilities and special needs.

The main aim of The Tiny Tim's Children's Centre is to provide free therapies, including Physiotherapy for all the children who benefit from such treatment. The charity mainly provides help for children who live in Coventry, the surrounding West Midlands and Warwickshire area, but we do also sometimes see children from further afield.

The children with disabilities and special needs who come to the centre for therapy, are aged between 0 and 18 years of age.  We see a wide range of conditions including, Cerebral Palsy, Muscular Dystrophy, Autism, Epilepsy, Dyspraxia, Asthma, soft tissue abnormality, Downs syndrome, chromosomal disorders, behavioural problems and sensory impairment. Whilst the therapy we provide cannot in itself cure incurable conditions, we can focus on helping with some of the secondary conditions these children suffer from in their day to day lives. These can include: joint stiffness, impaired mobility, poor muscle tone, lymphatic and circulation problems, developmental delay, sleep problems, stress, constipation, and psychosocial problems.

The improvements we have witnessed in children who come for therapy include; improved mobility and stimulation of neuromuscular action and related muscle tone and improved sense of well being.  Improved sleep and relaxation, stress reduction, improved respiration and circulation, reduced constipation, heightening of touch and spacial awareness, In some cases there are improvements in concentration and social behaviour, increased appetite, and acceptance of more food, as well as interest in more games and play equipment.  A number of children are tactile defensive, and in many instances this is broken down and in some cases children become more aware of their own potential.

Those who benefit from the charity are children with any kind of disability or special need.  We recognise that in helping children we are also helping their parents who enjoy the wider psychosocial benefits for the family. The centre provides approximately 3,000 free therapy sessions every year.

If you require any further information or should you wish to visit the centre, please do not hesitate to contact us.
