Cannon Park – Designated Charity Result

Following the Cannon Park Shopping Centre Charity Appeal in the last edition of Chatterbox, letter from many worthy causes were received. We are delighted to inform you that Cannon Park selected Tiny Tim’s Children’s Centre as it’s designated charity for 2009-2010.

Centre Manager Keith Allsopp Said “We have chosen to sponsor Tiny Tim’s as it helps local disabled children have a greater quality of life”.

Cannon Park was impressed that the charity is run by a local team in touch with real needs, providing over 3,000 treatments per year including massage, physiotherapy and reflexology for children with disability across the Coventry area, which are not available on the NHS or by personal finances. Tiny Tim’s and Cannon Park are planning several exciting fun raising activities in the coming months and latest information will be available on the web site www.cannonparkshopping.co.uk

Tiny Tim’s Children’s Centre raises their own core running costs through profit from their Purple Planet Play Centre which is open Tuesday to Friday 9:30am to 5:00pm (except wed 0:30am), Saturday and Sunday 10am to 4pm. So bring your children to purple planet and help support Tiny Tim’s at the same time.

Testimonial from a local parent:

Perfectly placed at the end of the A46 on the ring road is The Purple Planet, the brilliant soft play centre at Tiny Tim's. It's ideally located to get to from all over Coventry, Leamington, Rugby and Kenilworth.

My friend and I took our children (ranging from 5 to 9) there one afternoon and we had a fantastic time.

It's clean and bright - it's just been refurbished with all new equipment.

It has been specifically designed to be accessible for all and includes a sensory area for children with disabilities and special needs.

As well as the baby and toddler area, there are big looping tunnels and a massive slide.

There was a lovely atmosphere in the play area. The children went to play and we sat and had a drink in the café - while still being able to keep an eye on them.

We also fed the children from the menu café, which is incredibly good value and offers both vegetarian choices and caters for special dietary needs. The food is freshly prepared on the site by the purple planet resident chef.

There are great children's parties at various times during the day, after school or at weekends. For a little extra you can have exclusive use of the centre!

I learnt something new on this visit. I always knew it was a great, clean and friendly place for my children to go and play, but I hadn't realised till this visit that it is also part of a children's charity. In the same building is their alter ego, Tiny Tim's headed up by Alan Inger. Tiny Tim's is a centre which offers a range of physiotherapy and massage based treatments for children with disabilities and special needs. As well as treating the children, the centre also trains parents and carers in the skills they need to continue the treatment at home.

Tiny Tim's is funded largely by the money raised at The Purple Planet. So not only can you have a great time with your children, you'll also be supporting a very worthwhile charity.
