Black Chili recycles IT equipment under two separate services- PC disposal and data destruction. This approach allows us to provide a simple service to meet our customers legal Duty of Care under both the Environment Act and the Data Protection Act and to also provide a complete auditable service to allow for asset registry
management, redeployment or charitable donation if necessary.

Disposal Service

This service provides a fully audited service utilising a bespoke client/server database, every item is
PAT tested and any re-saleable equipment is purchased from you at an agreed price, thus ensuring the maximum return to you whilst providing complete trace-ability. There will usually be a return to you using this approach if only disposal is required.

This option includes:

• A collection service using our own staff.
• Waste Transfer Note, a legal requirement
• Detailed Tracking
• Guaranteed auditable data destruction
• Certificate of Destruction

Data destruction

Data destruction is to Security Equipment Assessment Panel (SEAP) and CESG standards.

Including

• Hard disks
• Tapes – DLT, DAT, LTO, 8mm, etc
• CDROM / DVD media
• Floppy Disks
• Solid State Devices

We use only systems approved by SEAP’s latest standards, using only SEAP approved software or
equipment. If required we can physically destroy any computer media by using a SEAP/NATO approved industrial shredder thus ensuring the item is completely destroyed.
